Gejas Cafe

340 W. Armitage
Fondue/Wine
average cost: $80-$100
$40 - $60 with coupon

Rated one of Chicago's Most Romantic Restaurants, Gejas Cafe provides just that - romantic and intimate dining.

This restaurant offers a finer fondue experience than The Melting Pot. With candlelit tables and live music of Spanish and classical guitar this might not be the place for a casual first date.

The most popular dinner is typically the four-course 'Premiere Diner'. The course begins with cheese fondue over an open flame with an assortment of fruits and breads. The next course is a simple but delicious side salad.

Next, diners will choose between lobster tail, jumbo shrimp, beef tenderloin, sea scallops or chicken breast for their main course. The meats are served alongside oils for DIY cooking. The server gives specific instructions on how long to cook each meat as to avoid any sort of uncooked meat illness.

The means are served with eight unique dipping sauces. Finally, the meal concludes with chocolate fondue and marshmallows, pound cake and fruit for dipping.

With the four courses and slow cooking meat process, Gejas provides plenty of time for conversation between diners.

If paying full menu prices, the four-course Premiere Diner ranges from $30 - $50 a person but Gejas frequently offers discounts. Recently there was a Groupon for $25 toward $60 . With the discounts, a dinner for two with no wine would average about $40, not too bad for such a nice restaurant!

  1. If you're unsure about an ingredient, you can check the label to make sure it's not dangerous. For example, if the ingredients are artificially-colored, you should avoid those products. If you are curious to know more about best dog food, here you can get more information about it.

  2. For an eclectic dining experience, try a restaurant with a long history. In the heart of downtown, the Capitol is just steps away, and many of the city's best Thai-inspired restaurants can be found here.

  3. There are many differences between chicken kiev vs cordon bleu, but what really separates these two dishes? One major difference is the type of stuffing used. Kiev is made with butter and garlic, while Cordon Bleu uses a ham or bacon stuffing. If you're looking to impress your date, make sure to try both versions.
